Dental Anxieties, Fears and Phobias

For many individuals, experiences from childhood dental clinics or trauma from past dental treatments have left them with fears and phobias of visiting the dentist. This, in turn, can lead to missed dental appointments, neglected teeth and in the worst-case scenario, dental pain and toothache.

Regular check-ups with your dentist will reduce the need for emergency dental treatment and dental pain. If you have any concerns or worries about your teeth and gums, please click here to make a dental appointment with our team.

Anxious patients

Anxious Patient? – Your questions answered

During your initial appointment with your dentist, we will discuss your fears and anxieties regarding dental care. The most powerful tool we can use to settle your nerves is the ability to listen to your concerns. We take great care to make sure all treatments are fully explained. We aim to make you feel comfortable with all the options available so that we can help you make the most informed decision about your oral health care.

Anxious Patients with severe anxiety

For patients that have severe anxiety about dental treatment, Garden Square offers conscious dental sedation, acupuncture and hypnotherapy making dental treatment a more pleasant experience for the anxious patient.

As a nervous patient with a somewhat sluggish dental health routine in the past I have found that since joining the Garden Square Dental Practise I am a happier, more regular visitor to the dentist. Both with regards to my overall dental hygiene and the cosmetic side of things: Amer, Sofi & Jodi have always offered me comfortable, painless and supremely well-informed treatments and treatment plans/options. They are a great team and I have never felt so relaxed and comfortable visiting the dentist.
